Do you want to be stronger as you age? Are some aches and pains preventing you from doing the things you used to enjoy? Maybe you have osteoporosis and are unsure how to safely gain necessary strength. Then Legacy Fitness is the perfect place for you!
I started Legacy because I have a passion for strength training in the +55 age group. As a crossfitter for over 15 years, I have seen 1st hand how getting strong and staying strong enables me to do all the things I want. Activities such as crawling around on the floor with my new grandchild, playing pickleball, and biking are so much easier because of the strength and endurance training I’ve received at my CrossFit gym. Now, I want to teach you what I have learned to make functional strength, balance, and endurance transfer into to real life skills.
Many people entering their 6th, 7th, 8th, or even 9th decade think lifting weights is not allowed. The opposite is true. We need strength even more as sarcopenia (loss of muscle) increases with each passing decade. I’m certain you already know the other health benefits of exercise in all age groups. It’s even more important in aging adults so we can maintain independence and live the life we want.
Even if you have never picked up a dumbbell or think that you cannot, let me show you how! All of the workouts of the day (WOD)’s are completely scalable. This means if you cannot get on the floor, I show you other options. If you have a nagging injury such as low back pain or a rotator cuff tear and you are afraid of making it worse, let me show you how proper strength building can improve or even remove those limitations.
So whether you’ve been sedentary for many years or you have been attending a gym and doing the same machines, such as conditioning on a treadmill or repeating the same exercises over and over again, or you are simply ready to take your strength and fitness to a new level, then give Legacy a try and see why we’re different.
